OGAA COVID-19 Update 6/1/2020 & Executive Order No. 1491 Email
We are excited to get the season kicked off beginning tonight. As we begin the season, we need to remind everyone that things are not back to being normal. Everyone needs to keep in mind that the Coronavirus is still very much active and we all need to do our part in ensuring that we are providing the safest environment possible for all players, coaches, parents, and other persons visiting the park.
As stated in previous emails, OGAA has installed hand sanitizing stations in every dugout for anyone to use. We encourage all to use the hand sanitizer as frequently as possible to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. We are also sanitizing the dugouts daily. Bathrooms will be sanitized daily.
Each Coach needs to assign a parent or coach to be the safety coordinator for their team to ensure that all parents, players, coaches, and others associated with their team is maintaining the social distancing guidelines.
Furthermore, we have provided a link to view The States Executive Order No. 1491 which outlines COVID-19 Guidelines for outdoor sports complexes. Everyone receiving this email needs to read this Executive Order before coming to the park tonight for games.
Also, in lieu of players shaking hands and telling the other team "Good Game", baseball players will line up down their infield foul line, tip their hats, and shout "Good Game." Softball players will line up down their infield foul line and shout "Good Game."
We will continue to implement the no sharing equipment policy. There will be no catchers for all coach pitch leagues. Your players playing the pitcher position will need to cover home. In the player pitch age groups, the catcher that starts the game will be required to catch the entire game, unless the coach or player has a seperate set of catchers gear that can be used. All gear should be sanitized at the end of each game.
The concession stands will not be open right now. It is acceptable during this time to bring your coolers and ice chests into the ballpark for your famlies use only. No team coolers are permitted. There shall be no drink sharing. Everyone needs to have their own drink in their own container. We also have drink vending machines located around all the concession stands that are fully stocked.
Again, we are excited to get the season started up. Everyone be safe, have fun, and enjoy some baseball and softball!

With the acceptance of the Safe Sports Act, it is now required for all Head Coaches and Assistant Coaches to participate in Abuse Awareness Training. In addition, coaches are still required to complete and submit their OGAA Coaching Application, which allows us to conduct background checks.
